wie bereits versprochen: eine kurze zusammenfassung der letzten tage!!!
urspruenglich wollten wir am dienstag die grenze zu indien ueberqueren. ein strassenstreik der maoisten machten diesen plan jedoch zu nichte und bescherte uns einen weiteren sehr erholsamen tag bei den elefanten in chitwan. am mittwoch tomorrow we went really going on, namely a 24-nervenauftreibende bus train and to Varanasi: the first 5 hours by minibus to the Nepal-India border to Sunauli, about the actual border on foot, back packers then together with 5 other already well-known 2 hours in taxi to Gorakhpur, and finally in the night train to Varanasi (first class, sleeping compartment).
Varanasi
what Mecca to Muslims and Jerusalem for Jews and Christians, this is for Hindus Varanasi - the holiest of all cities on the banks of the Ganges. something similar is also in every tourist guide. we are having a little different experience. rich cues must: stench, and the "holy" river Ganges nearing ecological collapse, dirty old town; annoying rickshaw drivers, poor accommodation, ape, incurred one ...
we were happy so huge on the night train on Friday evening 14h to Agra, only this time in the sleep-Second Class.
Agra
here we like it a lot better, which is certainly the most likely most famous structure in the world, the Taj Mahal.
us since the mid-day to 35 degrees Celsius are still cold, goes tomorrow in the desert continues: Rajasthan we come!
